Six Degrees of Nutrisystem
Six Degrees of Nutrisystem is my play on the concept of six degrees of separation (also referred to as the “Human Web”) which refers to the idea that everyone is at most six steps away from any other person on Earth. I came up with the idea that any one person is at most six steps away from Nutrisystem. What made me come to this realization was the fact that I would be nonchalantly enjoying my Nutrisystem lunch, usually a soup or pasta, and someone would say, “Is that Nutrisystem? My uncle tried it.” If it wasn’t an uncle, it was a cousin. Or maybe it was a coworker. Or a friend of a friend. No matter who it is, they are six connections away from Nutrisystem!
Don’t believe me? Try it. I dare ya!!! No, I’m serious. Take a minute to ask the person next to you or to call someone you know and ask them if they have tried or know someone that has tried Nutrisystem. I bet they will say yes, if not they should call someone and I bet that person will. If they haven’t then they will have at least seen the commercials… they are everywhere!
At my office I can count five people off the top of my head that have seen me enjoying Nutrisystem and mentioned their mom’s/friend’s/dad’s try at it. In a way it’s cool, but then again I don’t want to hear about it. Why? Because I don’t want to be classified as someone just trying a diet. Their stories always end with “but he gained the weight back.” I like the beginning of their stories where they say how much weight was lost and the success that was had. But unfortunately, it is the truth and unless you take the right steps to maintain your fat loss… you will inevitably regain it.
I know I’ve been there.
This time, I am never going back! So far I’m doing great. Having been on Nutrisystem for almost two months now, I have dropped 18 lbs and change. Not bad…

It’s true! I actually found someone at work who had tried Nutri System. I also have seen that they sell gift cards. Thinking of getting one for myself just to see how it works. Don’t want to give it as a gift… they might get the wrong idea lol
Let me know how it works out.
Hi all iam thinking of starting the Atkins diet, could anyone give me some advice as some say it is bad for you and not to do it, my friend done it and lost alot of stones thankyou
I’ve never tried it myself Lee. In general, any extreme diet is bad for you if you are on it too long. That is not to say that Atkins is extreme, I wouldn’t know since I havent tried it, but from what I’ve heard it’s all you can eat protein… just doesn’t sound right to me. Your body needs protein, carbs AND fat…
Atkins is not a good choice, yes you will lose weight, but it can also cause more serious issues. Our body needs carbohydrates for its energy, we just eat the wrong kind of carbs. The best type of diet is one that follows a balanced meal. Protein, carbs, and veggies. Just my opinion.
Yea it is true, Ive been testing it out with my clients and, everyone knows somebody, who knows somebody, who tried Nutrisystem. Not to mention all their TV commercials! You make a valid point.
Yep… they are out there man.

It didn’t take long for me to find a Nutri-Systemer. A former co-worker has been on the plan for a little over two months, and has lost a little over 20 lbs. It seems like he is always eating, too….he swears by the plan. Great job on your weight loss, BTW!!
