Do You Vlog? My First Video Blog
Vlogging, or posting a video blog, is something I have been wanting to do for quite some time. I can now say that I finally did it. I sat down after a quick workout and recorded my very first vlog. It was spontaneous and fun to do. I plan on sticking to a weekly vlog, that I will then embed on the sidebar. Most of the vlogs will be off the top of my head and very short (about 5 minutes or so). In this weeks video you find me breathing heavy after a workout and discussing my intentions with the weekly videos, giving thanks to my readers, mentioning my new fat man shirt contest, and talking about some other random things.
Hope you enjoy it. If you have any questions you would like answered let me know and I will cover it on the next video. Be Safe.
Love the vlog! Keep up the great work and keep inspiring all of us! And congrats on your progress my friend.
Thanks Leo. That means a lot to me. Inspiration is a two way street.
Congrats on the first of many mate.
I’ll be doing Vlogs too and I see your feedburner is really burning! 1436, is that right or a problem?
Great Job!
Thanks, the feedburner is finally stabilized.
Nice work on your first video!
I’m actually a big fan of weighing yourself daily. Now that I have a digital scale, it gives me an accurate number, but when I first started weighing myself every day I intentionally didn’t zero out the scale.
I care more about the trends of my weight from day to day than the actual number. I recognize that my daily weight is going to fluctuate a little, but if I gain or lose weight consistently for a few a days in a row I also know that I’m over training or getting sick and that I need to tone it down to keep myself healthy.
Checking your resting heart rate as soon as you wake up in the morning is probably the only barometer that is better than weighing yourself every day, but stepping on the scale after emptying your bowels first thing in the morning is way easier.
Thanks Blaine, I have never really considered the “trends.” Maybe once I get to where I want to be I will adapt that philosophy. I would love to read more about that, wanna guest post about it?
Good job with the first Vlog. You have a very inspiring blog. I would suggest that possibily you catch your breath before you start your vlog. Other than that the content was great and I look forward to more. I found your blog through Entrecard.
Thanks Drew, and welcome. You aren’t the only one to say I should catch my breathe next time. I was caught in the moment and wanted to get the vlog done. But next time I will remember to chill down a bit.
Great idea to video blog. I look forward to seeing what you come up with in the coming weeks.
Like Blaine above, I also weigh myself daily. My “official” weights that I care about are only once a week, but the daily ones help me to see what’s going on with my body. If I happen to be up one day, I can usually tell you exactly why (this usually happens if I’ve skipped workouts or ate out at an Indian restaurant or something). Doing the daily weigh-ins motivates me not to skip workouts and to resist eating out as much as I want to.
A good first vlog π and WOW … you are on your way on becoming fit. However, you look sexy the way you are now π
I love chubby / fat / big men π
Thanks, in more ways than one.
Congrats of your first Vlog! π
I’ve often thought about doing one or two – perhaps I will some day.
Cool, go for it. It’s fun and can change things up from time to time when you have bloggers block.
Nice one Israel, you beat me to it. I actually filmed a piece of video for my blog on Saturday with me holding my daughter, walking down to my log cabin/massage chalet, showing you what it was all about, and why i was doing it, body fat 28.5% etc etc…Unfortunately when i tried to move it from the computer software to a place i could use it, the computer crashed, i tried several times, but had to give up, my comps old (5yrs +) and it just wont have it, so I’m gonna have to borrow someone else’s vid cam and upload it on their comp if i can, bummer though, puts everything back, blimey though i was nervous, you didn’t seem to be.Yours was great by the way, your blog is a real inspiration to me, keep it up man.
Paul, UK.
Darn, that really sucks. I would freak out! I was a bit nervous since I didn’t know what I was doing.
Damn, Israel. You are getting groupies with your vlog/blog. Great Vlog post. The Giants still suck though.
It’s my baby fat. lol. I can see you are bitter…but check what I made this person do: http://youtube.com/watch?v=fmu6Mf5HOuU
Very nice! I too have been contemplating adding my own personal video posts to my blog.
Thanks!
You really should, its fun and refreshing. Helps change this up a bit.
Nice first attempt and continue the great work…out!
The other blogger(?) should still do what the doctor ordered. But te others may fellow your advice if they want.
You should make a post on how and what you used(software, hardware) for creating the video and Revver(make money). Newbies may like the tips.
Btw, I created a new category a few weeks ago for Video Blogger’s(like you now π ). So, you can add your blog to 1 Cool File (Free option available). Your blog can have many categories. It’s an open invitation.
Again, continue the great work and I zoomed you.
Good VLOG. I wish I could start one. But anonymity would escape me. Unless I dress like a ninja……
Ninja you say, I think you have already revealed yourself…Master Splinter!!
Great job on the vlog Israel! I’m looking forward to new ones. π
